-Intermission-

I know, I know...
....I'm such a tease! I get all worked up about starting a  new sequence of dailies and then put on the brakes again.  It will all be worth the wait! I've got lots of irons in the creative fire at the moment and some new business ventures brewing as well.  I've outgrown my studio space this month!

For more consistent updates please visit my main blog where I keep more regular updates.
You can also hop over to my online shop at Etsy, where many of my small scale daily paintings are available for sale. You'll find other surprises and custom listings there as well. Enjoy.

Thanks for your patience!

Heart of the House 5: Cluster of Dailies

I am not sure what to title these as I am loosening up the 'rules' as I move into a new group of dailies. You will be seeing individual mixed media pieces and clusters such as these, that can be grouped in more than one way.

At Last an Exhibit of Daily Paintings!

I have been focused on large scale, longer term works and their respective exhibits. So, this site has been in repose for a while. However, I am happy to announce that I currently have on display the Continuum and Half Time Home series of Daily Paintings.
El Camino a Casa, or The Way Home
Now Showing at Mari-Lin Cafecreacions
Sa Costa de la Pols 8, Palma de Mallorca SPAIN

It was great to see these pieces individually framed and shown in this charming locale. Many thanks to Juan Antonio and Veronica for opening this wonderful creative space, and for the opportunity to share my work.

Pelvis Study

Pelvis Study

By Laurie Pearsall

Original mixed media on paper, 2002

10 X 17.5 in./ 25 X 45 cm

This piece is for sale! Click here for more info.

Pelvis Study is a one-of-a-kind drawing I hung on to from my illustrious teaching career. I was teaching my high school drawing class anatomy and mixed media techniques simultaneously. Every once in a while one of those didactic demos rises to the top!

A little piece left over from the Dream Sequence series of 2000 - 2002. I found it slipped down between some larger works in an old portfolio case. It's finally seeing the light of day!

It's been a while. I hope you enjoy the view as I begin to play catch-up on my two blogs! An earlier post on my sister blog discussed my desire to clear the clutter in the studio (and the mind) by finessing almost-finished work from years past. I will dedicate a little time on my daily blog here to show you the progress I have made in that regard. Then I will resume daily painting that is directly linked to my present body of work.

I'm Learning How to Read Her

from the Heart of the House series, 2010
3 - Panel piece total dimensions: 11.75 x 5.75 in. (30 X 15 cm)
mixed media collage and painting on wood.

This piece has taken quite a number of days to complete, so consider it a few dailies folded into one, intricate piece! it is also designed to have delicately carved wooden legs to stand on- but I need to resolve some technical difficulties first! I'll re-post it if I can overcome the small physics challenge involved! The silhouette is that of my daughter, Malena. Happy mother's day, everyone.

The last few days I have been contemplating a shift, at least temporarily, in the theme of the daily paintings to be posted here over the next month. Click here to read more.
